About the conference

MEGAmun is a model united nations conference taking place at Lycée Michel-Rodange from 29th – 31th January 2026 in Luxembourg-City.

MUN conferences simulate the work of the United Nations and help students to learn more about the principles of the UN and how it functions. Participants also develop their language skills through debates, engage with current political issues and follow the actual rules and practices used at the UN. During the conference, the students stay with host families and form intercultural bonds and friendships.

Over 50 students and 20 teachers from nine countries are scheduled to participate in MUN (Model United Nations) debates dealing with varying issues around developments in diverse areas and modern democracy.

Under the theme of "A World in Transition", the participating students will explore the societal and political challenges posed by the current evolution in many different sectors.

The main theme of this year's conference is "A World in Transition". Not only politics, but also economics, the social sector and international relations are going through many changes due to things like: the more common use of AI, climate change, changes in leaders of countries, or ongoing/resurfacing conflicts (like India&Pakistan, Ukraine&Russia, Palestine&Israel) These developments have significant repercussions on our modern societies and impact us greatly, locally and globally. Major challenges for political regulation and social policies have arisen and have to be discussed, tackled and hopefully resolved through diplomacy. This year's MEGAmun conference explores these new and old issues and presents a big range of topics.
